During the winterperiod it is not possible to order food, drinks and picnics at the Binnenplaats. In the springtime you are welcome to enjoy your coffee and ”vlaai” at the Binnenplaats or go for a picnic in our garden. 

Kasteel Wijlre estate has one of Europe’s most beautiful gardens. It received the prestigious European Garden Award in 2014. Its three hectares offer many special places to eat and drink at a sufficient distance from other visitors.

Picnic or lunch (pre-order the day before)

A picnic on the grass with a view of Broken Circle by Ad Dekkers, in the shade under the espaliers, or in the estate courtyard is a unique way to experience the estate. The picnic basket contains (for example) a wrap, homemade juice, boiled egg, salad and dessert. Find your favourite view, bench, or table; we can provide cushions, picnic rugs, crockery and cutlery. In case of bad weather, the salon in the Coach House is available for eating and drinking. Note: the entrance fee is not included with a picnic in the garden or lunch.

The Courtyard – food & drinks

Traditional and pure regional products are available in the courtyard of the Coachhouse between 11.30 and 15.30.
The food and beverage outlet offers a small menu with coffee with Limburgse vlaai (the region’s specialty, traditionally made of a fresh yeast dough, filled with locally grown fruit, and baked in a wood-burned oven), a chilled bottle of organic white wine, a bottle of apple juice from our own orchard or other drinks. Prepared with care and ready to go! At De Binnenplaats you can only pay with a debit card.

Are you planning a group visit (from 10 persons) and do you want to book food and drinks at the estate? We offer on request:
– Coffee, tea and Limburgse vlaai: € 9.50 p.p.
– Lunch with soup of the day, luxury bread, coffee and tea from € 19,50 p.p.*                                                                                                                           If you would like to extend your lunch, we offer the possibility to add fresh (fruit)salads, quiches and/or Limburgse vlaai to your lunch for a surcharge.
