The Dutch artist Vibeke Mascini presents Daisychain, her solo exhibition in the Coach House at Kasteel Wijlre estate. Mascini, whose work was previously featured in We Live Here Too, presents new work in which she explores the relationship between energy and memory.
In her installations, she renders perceptible the often invisible yet fundamental role of energy in our world. By interweaving natural processes with technological systems, she investigates how memories – biological, individual and digital – depend on continuous flows of energy. In this context, energy emerges not only as a physical phenomenon, but also as a carrier of emotion and meaning.
The exhibition unfolds as a spatial network of interconnected installations, in which natural and synthetic environments merge into one another. This creates a hybrid landscape that raises questions about dependency, sustainability and the fragile infrastructures that support our existence.
Daisychain makes tangible how energy, matter and memory are inextricably linked, inviting visitors to reflect on the vulnerability of these relationships and on the visible and invisible networks that connect us to one another and to our environment.
